Baby Loss Resources
Losing a baby is a very isolating path. When I lost Avery, I had no idea what to do for myself, to even begin on the road to healing. These resources have been helpful to me and can hopefully be passed on to help others on this difficult journey.
On the web
Glow in the Woods - So many helpful resources, including how to stop lactation, and other difficult subjects. The writers that contribute to this blog are so talented and honest, so open about their most raw feelings, instantly making you feel less alone.
Molly Bears - This wonderful organization makes weighted teddy bears for bereaved families at no charge (though donations are welcome!) The bears are truly beautiful and it's apparent they are made with love. We cherish our Avery Bear.
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep - NILMDTS takes beautiful photographs of your baby, at your request. I was not able to have them present for Avery, as they were not offered to me, but I truly wish I had. We had to rely on taking photos ourselves with just a simple point and shoot camera instead of just spending time with her. Because of this, we don't have a family photo of the three of us.
Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope - A great place to connect to other baby loss parents and share your own story (Mine is here). They have many resources and a forum as well.
A Heart to Hold - Like Molly Bears, AHTH makes weighted hearts for bereaved families, free of charge. Our heart is very special to us.
Christian's Beach - CarlyMarie is an extremely talented photographer. She writes your baby's name in the sand under a gorgeous sunset. You can receive a high resolution file of the photo for a charge. Her work is beautiful and her site has many resources.
Lost For Words Card Line - CarlyMarie and the lovely Franchesca have teamed together to create a beautiful card line, sensitive to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, and infertility.
Small Bird Studios - Franchesca designs lovely affordable blog layouts (and a number of other things you may need). She also creates beautiful canvases and quotes in her store.
Still Standing Magazine - An online magazine embracing life after loss and infertility. Great articles and resources. You can even submit your own writings.
My Forever Child - Keepsakes and jewelry to honor your baby
Calvin's Hats - They give tiny hats to families who have lost babies. They also give hats to hospitals for the tiniest of preemies. I have two sweet little hats from Calvin's Hats that have blessed my heart so much.
Sufficient Grace Ministries - This wonderful ministry offers special baby books and comfort teddy bears to bereaved families. They also have burial gowns for babies.
Songs
I've always found it therapeutic to have songs to relate to, that can convey my pain when I can't, and songs that encourage and uplift at the perfect moments. These are my favorites.
"I Will Carry You" - Selah
"Glory Baby" - Watermark
"Held" - Natalie Grant
"Could It Be Any Harder" - The Calling
"If I Die Young" - The Band Perry
"From Where You Are" - Lifehouse
"Beautiful Things" - Gungor
"Storm" - Lifehouse
"Heaven Song" - Phil Wickham
"Broken" - Lifehouse
"All I Know" - Matt Wertz
"Change" - Taylor Swift
"Who You'd Be Today" - Kenny Chesney
"Keep On" - Tyler Hilton
"Beauty From Pain" - Superchick

Books
I've purchased and read a few books since losing Avery. There are many out there but I can only personally vouch for these:
I Will Carry You by Angie Smith
An Exact Replica of a Figment of My Imagination by Elizabeth McCracken
Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo, Sonja Burpo, & Colton Burpo
Grieving the Child I Never Knew by Kathe Wunnenberg
Someone Came Before You by Pat Schwiebert
{More to come}
